Health and fitness cannot be used interchangeably, they are actually different, but mutually dependable status.

You can be very fit but at the same time unhealthy. Also you can be healthy without an adequate level of fitness.

Before we deep dive more let see the meaning of these two mutual dependable items;

According to Dr. Phillip Maffetone “Fitness is the ability to perform physical activity. You can define the limit of your fitness, you can work a mile a day or train for an ironman triathlon”.

Health, the optimal balance of the whole system of the body. The nervous, muscular, skeletal, circulatory, digestive, lymphatic, hormonal and all other system” Dr. Philip Maffetone.

How to Get the Optimal Balance of Health and Fitness?

As we know fitness is all about physical fitness. Tracing back to our ancestors where most of the productive work was performed manually, including shifting heavy load. By that time health problems like the problem of blood sugar balance, obesity, dysfunction and many other problems were not very common.

Coming up to our modern era where we have escalators, microwaves, elevators and many other automatic machines. Physical activity is a big deal, a big deal anymore, because the push of one button can finish it all in just one minute.

Change is good but it always comes up with both positive and negative side effects. Yes, technological advancement saves time and energy, but what are the negative impacts of replacing most physical activity with modern technology?

Since most of the physical activity is performed by machine hence our body remains with little or no work to do at all. This can be a major reason for the most common health problems in our modern time. These common health problems include the following;

  • eating natural foods instead of natural processed ones.
  • Getting real vitamins and other nutrients from real food instead of synthetic vitamin supplements.
  • Better sleep habits., mentioning a few.

When health and fitness stay together in a balanced form the result is the tremendous human performance in all aspects of life including personal, family, social and work. Hence this can result in following benefits;

  • Protect the body against the risk of diseases and
